  • 60+ Recovery Meals Service for information about the temporary meal delivery service for seniors who were receiving GetFoodNYC meals and will still need food after the program ends

The Home Delivered Meals program is available for eligible seniors age 60 and older.

If you are an existing Home Delivered Meals Program client (this does not include 60+ Recovery Meals recipients), you can:

  • Report a missed delivery
  • Cancel or resume service
  • Make complaints about the quality of food or service

A local case management agency can enroll an adult age 60 and older in a meal delivery program. If the senior is unable to attend a group meal program or prepare their own meals, nutritionally balanced meals will be delivered to their home.

In order to receive home delivered meals, a senior must be evaluated by a case manager at a participating agency.

Older adults who receive home care eight or more hours a day are generally not eligible for home delivered meals, as the attendant is expected to prepare meals for the senior.  Exceptions are made when a senior has no cooking facilities, cannot afford to purchase food, or requires a kosher meal that the attendant cannot prepare.

Use Site Finder to search for a Case Management Agency. Contact them by phone. If you get the voicemail system, leave a message with your contact information and you'll get a call back.

The Department for the Aging (DFTA) will follow up on reports that an older adult did not receive his or her regularly scheduled meal delivery.

DFTA does not have a contract with "God's Love We Deliver" and does not accept complaints about missed deliveries from this agency.

Please note, this does not include missed deliveries for the 60+ Recovery Meals Service.

Call 311 to report the problem.

You can make a complaint about programs that provide home delivered meals for older adults age 60 or older and the quality of the food they deliver.

Older adults who are receiving food through DFTA's Home Delivered Meals program, and are known to DFTA’s case management services, can submit feedback or a complaint.

Please note the Home Delivered Meals program provides one meal a day.
