You can apply for a monthly permit to reserve a space at a New York City municipal parking garage. Reservations are accepted five calendar days before the end of each month, on a first-come, first-served basis up to the available supply of parking spaces in each garage. A limited number of permits are available for reservation and purchase in-person at each garage on the first day of each month.

A valid New York State Department of Motor Vehicles driver license is required to make a reservation and get the permit. Each licensed driver may make one reservation and receive one permit per garage.

Obtaining a reservation voucher doesn't guarantee that a monthly parking permit will be issued. Before the first day of the following month, you must present the parking reservation voucher e-mail, the permit fee, and NY State driver license at the garage to receive the parking permit. The name on the driver's license must match the name appearing on the reservation confirmation.

Make a reservation.

Some City-owned municipal parking facilities, lots, and garages have spaces available for monthly or quarterly parking. The Department of Transportation issues permits on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees vary according to location.

Permits are not available for commercial vehicles.

The City issued temporary COVID-19 Medical Health On-Street Parking Permits to health care workers in hospitals and medical facilities throughout the five boroughs. Each hospital received a set number of permits.

New permits are no longer being issued, but replacement permits are being issued to accommodate a vehicle change, or if the permit has been reported lost or stolen.

This permit is valid citywide and should only be used for medical employment purposes. Please note that all parts of the COVID-19 permit must be properly completed for it to be valid. Vehicles displaying permits with missing information may be ticketed.

The duration of all COVID-19 permits has been extended to April 30, 2022, regardless of the expiration date shown on the permit.

Not-for-profit organizations can request new parking permits or renew existing permits. The permits allow parking in designated zones for business purposes. The permit is valid for one year.
